MOSCOW, November 18 - RIA Novosti. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev notes progress in defining the status of the Caspian Sea and believes that the document could be signed within a year at a summit in Russia.
"We have moved beyond the preliminary agenda, and in a friendly and constructive manner discussed a variety of issues, including the most difficult - issues of delimitation. And on the subject, I think we have reached agreement. This agreement, in my opinion, is that we have decided to instruct the relevant departments as soon as possible - three months - to discuss and agree on the breadth of the national area, based on the borders of 24-25 miles, including water area, and prepare a proposal to be approved by the heads of state "- said Medvedev, speaking in a statement to the press following the summit held in Baku.
